This Privacy Policy describes how Kylark Ventures LLC (“Kylark Ventures,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Wyoming Oil and Gas Stats website and application at oilstats.us and related services (together, the “Service”). It supplements the privacy provisions of our Terms and Conditions. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
Account information. Registration, sign-in, and subscription management are handled by our account and billing provider. When you create an account we receive information such as your name, email address, and subscription plan. We do not receive or store your password.
Payment information. Payments are processed by third-party payment processors. Your full card number and other payment credentials go directly to the processor and are never stored on our servers.
Information you save to your account. Some features let you save information to your account so it is available across devices — for example wells of interest, entities, and remittance entries you enter or confirm. We store that information in order to provide those features.
Information stored only in your browser. Certain data — such as your mineral tract list and display preferences — is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers except where a feature expressly says otherwise (for example, when you choose to sync data to your account or upload a document for AI-assisted reading).
Documents you upload for AI-assisted reading. If you choose to use a reading feature (such as the deed, lease, or remittance reader), the pages you upload are processed as described in Section 4.
Access logs. We log access to the Service, including IP addresses, request patterns, and similar technical information, for security, plan enforcement, and the anti-scraping purposes described in our Terms.
We use the information described above to operate and provide the Service, apply subscription plan limits, save your preferences and account data, secure the Service and enforce our Terms, respond to support requests sent to us, and send service-related communications (such as billing or account notices through our account provider). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising on the Service.
If you choose to upload a document for AI-assisted reading (such as a deed, lease, or remittance statement), the pages you upload are transmitted to Anthropic, PBC, which acts as our subprocessor and processes the document through its Claude API in order to return a reading to you. Anthropic processes and retains submitted content in accordance with its commercial terms in force at the time of processing, which do not permit Anthropic to use your submitted content to train its models. We do not retain the documents you upload or the readings returned on our own servers; we record only usage metadata (such as a count of pages read) to apply plan limits and for the logging described in Section 2. Information from a reading that you choose to save to your account is stored like any other account data.
The Service uses a session cookie to keep you signed in; it is set server-side, is not readable by page scripts, and expires after a short period. Our account provider may set its own cookies or tokens under its own privacy policy. The Service also uses your browser’s local storage to keep data and preferences on your device, as described in Section 2. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
We share information with service providers only as needed to run the Service: our account and billing provider (registration, authentication, subscriptions, and service emails), payment processors, our hosting and infrastructure provider (which serves the site and stores account-saved data), and Anthropic (AI document reading, as described in Section 4). Each processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the security of the Service, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of our business. We do not sell personal information to anyone.
Some map layers are drawn live in your browser from third-party servers, including government GIS services (such as BLM, state GIS, and U.S. Census services) and basemap tile providers. When your browser requests those layers, those servers receive standard request information such as your IP address. Their handling of that information is governed by their own policies.
We keep account-saved data while your account is active. Access logs are kept for a limited period appropriate to security and enforcement. If you cancel your account, or if you ask us to delete your data by contacting us at the address in Section 12, we will delete account-saved data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our Terms. Data stored only in your browser remains on your device and under your control.
We use reasonable technical measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), server-side session cookies that page scripts cannot read, and security headers on all responses. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can review and update your account information through your account, cancel your subscription at any time, and clear browser-stored data through your browser. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address in Section 12 and we will respond as required by applicable law.
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted at this page, and material changes may also be announced in the application. Your continued use of the Service after an updated policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of it.
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests regarding your information, may be directed to Kylark Ventures LLC at [email protected].
